Certification for Montessori Pre-schools
Information for Providers
In recent years considerable funding has been dispensed for a variety of projects to further structural development, training and support within the Pre-school sector.
Funding has been allocated under the Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme in association with St. Nicholas Montessori Society of Ireland, to support Montessori Pre-school Providers nationally.
Under this funding a Montessori Certification Process was implemented, the purpose of which is to assess, support and raise the standard of a diverse range of Montessori facilities nationwide. This process is open to all Montessori Providers irrespective of training background, and includes all type of provision from community, full day care, crèche and sessional services.
A team of highly qualified Montessori Education Advisers work very closely with the HSE Preschool Inspectorate and the County/City Childcare Committees in carrying out this work.
There are also refresher/training days for providers and information on these can be obtained from the website.
All Montessori pre-school Mangers/Providers are invited to apply for a school visit with the intention of gaining support, advice and if desired, engaging in the Certification Process for their Montessori environment. The benefit of this Certificate is to provide independent quality assurance for Providers and Parents.
